When did you join Three for One?

I joined the team very recently along with Francisc and Timmy in March 2021.

What is it that you do at Three for One?

I am currently both a part of the sales department and the listing team. In the former I mainly assist customers looking to sell Magic cards, guide them through our buying process and assess their collection.

Those purchased cards are then re-sold which is where I step in again as a part of the listing team by strictly grading and subsequently uploading the cards to our Cardmarket account.

When did you start playing Magic, and how did it happen?

I distinctly remember playing my first games of MTG as a child on a bed with my older brother who introduced me to the game. This was around 19 years ago when the Onslaught cycle was released – I then took a long hiatus and fell in love with the game all over again after finding my old card collection about 10 years later.

What was the first Magic edition that you played with?

I started playing around 2002 so the most recent edition at the time was Onslaught.

Your biggest MTG success or highlight as a player was…?

I cashed a few Grand Prix’s (Top 64) but never managed to top 8 one. If I recall correctly my best placement was at a Team GP in Liverpool alongside my brother and a very good friend of mine.

What is your favorite Magic card?

I don’t really have a favourite magic card, but if I were to name a single one I’d probably name Twisted Image.

My first competitive deck was modern Infect and the card gave me a lot of fond memories by being a particularly elegant solution to handle Spellskite, a very prevalent card at the time.

What’s your favorite Magic deck?

Of all the decks I’ve played my favourite has to be the Pioneer version of the Kethis combo deck. Kethis has unfortunately since been banned in the format but it was an incredibly intricate deck to play and I enjoyed every minute of it, especially every time I got to outgrind my unsuspecting control opponents!

Is there anything we don’t know about you that might surprise us?

Magic has been a big part of my life ever since I started playing again so there has been little room for any other particularly interesting hobbies. I guess something unusual about me is that even though I am Austrian I’ve lived most of my life outside of Europe.
