ThreeForWohnzimmer 5

Favicon Three for One Trading

Tour de Franz

October 2025

On the 5th edition of ThreeForWohnzimmer, we raced through the plains of Ravnica, the mountains of Kamigawa, and everything in between! Franz has once again prepared a unique draft experiences for you: LA TOUR DE FRANZ

What is the ThreeForWohnzimmer?

Before we dive into the details of what happened last weekend, we have to explain what the ThreeForWohnzimmer actually is.

It all probably started during a late, late after draft at our local Three for One Trading store here in Vienna, Austria. Our tired but still cheerful Franz was probably lamenting about how there are simply not enough drafts getting played. Then fate probably struck, when Franz dropped his cards on the floor, and they probably mysteriously spelled out

FULL DAY DRAFT

Franz quickly figured out the details: “What if we just… lived at the store for a whole day?!” And thus, the living room (German = Wohnzimmer) idea was born. And the rest is probably history!

The ThreeForWohnzimmer is a Saturday event, hosted and managed by Franz, where we draft all day! All structured around the idea of a living room: Come by, enjoy the company, leave when you must, come by again later, etc.

People are welcome to sit down and draft all three organized drafts, join a single event or just come by and play whatever they want (Commander, Premodern, boardgames, etc.). Whoever joins all three draft tournaments will sometimes even make it to the Top 8, where the winner of the day will be determined!

All of this in a thematic framework curated by Franz himself. These were the topics so far:

The top 8 players of the first ThreeForWohnzimmer standing in front of a colorful wall.

For all those who like to draft and/or simply want to spend a chill Saturday. The main event consists of 3 drafts, the two best drafts will be used to determine the top 8. The winner will receive fame and honor (and a few boosters and free drinks). There are also side events, such as drafts based on player choice, commander and, if requested, a board game corner.

  • Start time:
  • Admission:
    • All drafts: €50
    • Chaos Draft: €15
    • Kamigawa Neon Dynasty: €12
    • Mixed Draft MH3 / MHII / KLD:  €26

    • The results of the best 2 drafts are added together and the best 8 are our top 8.
    • You can take part in one, two or all three drafts.
  • Price support:
    • Rares will get picked according to standings after each draft

Full room of people playing Magic: The Gathering

Due to its great success, we are going into the second round with our ThreeForWohnzimmer. This time it’s all about the Lord of the Rings!

Dear friends of magical gatherings!

It is with great anticipation that I invite you back to the ThreeForWohnzimmer on October 12th to spend a Saturday (or optionally just parts of it) with Magic & Lembas.

…Lembas? Yes. I am shocked to announce that another ring of power has been found – TheWohnRing! Together, let us find a way to destroy it or choose a worthy ring bearer who will not be corrupted by it.

This will be done in the tried and tested way: Three drafts are to show who is the most worthy of us and can wear the ring. Or will there even be someone who resists the temptation and throws the ring back into the fires of the Schicksals-Budl for the great benefit of all? :flushed: And yes: there will be plenty of dwarf beer.

Yours, Franzdalf the Bald

Franz dressed up as a bard and explains the rules of the draft to a full room of people.
We are delighted to bring back this now regular highlight in our tournament calendar in 2025. The ThreeForWohnzimmer is entering its third round and this time everything is themed around the classic game series: Heroes of Might and Magic

*Fanfare sounds*

A bald, handsome herald with glasses steps forward. He wears a simple but high-quality black and white tabard with the numbers 341 in white on a black background. The fanfares fall silent. The herald clears his throat briefly and then begins to speak in a firm, far-reaching voice: “Dear inhabitants of Magical Christmasland! The three kings of Franzreich; David, Oli and Wenzel hereby invite you to the great magical tournament on the first day of the second month in year four after the great plague. Everyone is free to register as a simple participant or as one of the five recognized classes. The five recognized classes are

  • War or peace

The best 8, including the best of each class, will compete against each other in a magical play-off in the discipline of “Draftsealed” to win fame and glory.
For those who don’t know what “Draftsealed” is: All drafted cards from round one to three may be used to build the best deck and smash your opponents into the dust of the arena.

May the best be victorious! Further announcements will follow. Now continue with your daily work!

Who will amass the most power to ultimately take their place on the iron throne of the draft king? The throne room game to determine the draft king or queen takes place between rounds and requires no prior knowledge.

Short version: The winners of the drafts will have the opportunity to claim prize boosters as taxes from the losers, the losers will have the opportunity to take disruptive actions against the winners. There will be a short test game at the beginning of Draft 1 to explain this. Opting out of the additional game is possible as always. The person who has earned the most prize boosters at the end of the 3 draft rounds or has obtained them through intrigue will be crowned Draft King or Draft Queen. And, of course, they have to be still alive to claim their throne.

ThreeForWohnzimmer 5 – Tour de Franz RECAP

The fifth and last (for now) iteration of the ThreeForWohnzimmer was another draft-astic success story with a total of 59 players! This time, players jumped onto their MtG bikes to win the TOUR DE FRANZ! They had to overcome tough mountain routes as well as sprint challenges. In the end, there could only be three champions:

ChampionPeter Hörzi
Best SprinterFranz
Best Mountain climberErik Springer

Who said we nerds can’t be athletic! Congratulations to all the winners and especially the champion, who defeated his opponents with the power of TWO Siege-Gang Commanders!

Players raced through the plains of Ravnica, the mountains of Kamigawa, and everything in between! Franz added two special rules to the tournament to make players feel the intense struggle of the two cyclist specializations: Sprint and Mountain!

  • For Sprint, the 3 players who win their draft match the fastest, could earn extra points.
  • For Mountain, the 3 players who complete a previously announced draft quest the fastest, could earn extra points.
    • Mountain Quest “Test of Endurance”: Win with a life total of 50 or more.
    • Mountain Quest “I’ve Seen All of Franz”: All lands of your deck in play or in your hand.

As is tradition for big cyclist races, the winners of the different categories got awarded with “fitting” jersey.

Best Sprinter: Green Jersey

Best Mountainer: Dotted Jersey

Best Overall: Yellow Jersey

In the end, the winners also won a medal or even the Tour de Franc cup!

What’s Next?

As you can probably tell, this is by far not the end of Franz and his Wohnzimmer! A little Franz of Paradise tweeted us top secret information about the upcoming ThreeForWohnzimmer 6! According to that very trustworthy source, the working title can be summarized in two Magic cards: Fight to the Death and Arena of Glory.

Sounds like Draft is back on the menu, boys!
